About the work

I photograph small, ordinary things — fruit on a sill, the way light crosses a plain floor at the end of an afternoon — and try to leave them as quiet as they were when I found them. Most of the work here is shot on film in natural light, with very little arranged and nothing borrowed in to dress the frame. I take on a handful of commissions a year for makers, kitchens, and slow brands who want pictures that breathe rather than sell, and I am always glad to talk about a project before anyone commits to it.
