Stoneware studio
About
Mara Voss makes hand-thrown stoneware in a converted barn at the edge of the Pinewoods. Each piece begins on the wheel and is finished with glazes she mixes in small batches from local ash, iron, and feldspar — so no two mugs, bowls, or vases leave the studio quite alike. The work is meant to be used: oven-safe, dishwasher-friendly, and heavy enough to feel honest in the hand. The studio stays small on purpose — the kiln is fired once a month, and most of what survives is sold to the people who come to see it. Commissions for wedding sets, restaurant service, and gallery groupings open a few times a year.
Contact
The studio is open by appointment on Saturday mornings, when the kiln is cool and there is usually fresh work on the shelves. Email ahead so I can set time aside — and say if you are after something specific.
